Frame text: copies of a flipped image "remember" they were flipped

Recommended Posts

Hi Folks,

I have a basic question here but cannot make my V1 of Affinity Photo do what I want.

Which is:

  1. Complex shape one way up -> add text
  2. Flip complex shape -> add text

When I flip the shape and add text, the text is flipped as well. OK, I thought, I will just copy and paste the flipped shape and then add text... but Affinity remembers that this is a copy of a flipped shape and my frame text is still the wrong way up.

What am I doing wrong? I cannot redraw the shape as it is a freeware asset I am using and I would not be able to make a decent copy.

There must surely be a way for Affinity to forget the shape was flipped? Even if I add it as a new asset, it STILL puts the text the wrong way up! It's a bit nuts :).
