Transparent background with custom export preset in 2.1.0

I want to export a png image with a transparent background without metadata, however when I try deselecting the "Embed metadata" checkbox affinity photo switches to a custom preset where I don't have a transparent background. The same issue occurs when changing any other option in the "Advanced" tab. Is this a bug or am I missing something?

I'm on Affinity Photo v2.1.0 (Windows 11)

Hi @coa47976 welcome to the forums,

This is a known issue in 2.1 when changing advanced settings causes the matte to change to white and lose transparency, there are workarounds to this issue outlined in the FAQ post below.

The issue "PNG with Selection Only shows white background after toggling Embed ICC profiles" (REF: AFP-6164) has been fixed by the developers in internal build "2.1.1.1847".
This fix should soon be available as a customer beta and is planned for inclusion in the next customer release.
Customer beta builds are announced here and you can participate by following these instructions.
