I have a Desktop Mac and Macbook Pro. I use Affinity Photo on my Macbook Pro because I don't have Photoshop there. I use Photoshop on my Desktop Mac because my OS is too old to use Affinity Photo. I want to be able to work on a file on my Macbook Pro using Affinity P, then bring it into my Desktop Mac and open it in Photoshop with all the layers intact!

Even using the Export function to export my file as a tiff from Affinity (with Affinity layers ticked) I end up with a "flattened" file when I open in Photoshop on my Desktop. Which is of no use to me as I want to keep working on the file in Photoshop on my Desktop.

Does anyone know of a way to preserve layers moving back and forth between these two programs?

Why TIFF? Why not PSD?

Two things to note. First is Text in an Affinity Photo document will not be exported as Text in an exported PSD file. The text layers will get rasterized during the export. The other is that Affinity Photo's saved layers in a TIFF file will only be available to work with in Affinity Photo. I believe that the latter is true with Adobe's Photoshop as well.

Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.6
Affinity Designer 2.5.7 | Affinity Photo 2.5.7 | Affinity Publisher 2.5.7 | Beta versions as they appear.

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.

Thanks, I'll check that out! Shame AP rasterizes type upon export, as AP brings in live font information from PS. Oh well.

Thanks again! I did not see the PSD option.
