CyberAngel Posted May 21, 2023 Posted May 21, 2023 I used the Pixel Persona to create a quick and Dirty object of 8 x 8 pixels, and somehow it is now two layers. I was trying to find a way to merge the two of these layers into one, I can not for the life of me find how to do this. A quick Google search shows to go to the Layer Menu and Select Merge Layers, but I do not see it. Another suggested to go to Geometry and selecting Add, yet again I do not see that option either. Circulus Posted May 21, 2023 Posted May 21, 2023 Geometry Add is for vector objects. To simply merge pixellayers in designer and even in photo is to group them and rasterize that group. Quote I think Serif wants us to be only creative in finding workarounds to use their tools. I have an affinity with Jumping through hoops and Finding work-a-roundabouts, I'm getting dizzy from all that spinning before my eyes.

Better rephrase as it is not clear as to what it is you're seeing or what you want with what objects/layers. What I mean is I have a group with two pixel layers and a normal vector layer, I was hoping that grouping the two pixel layers made it stay in the same group. I have 45 groups and for some strange reason, Affintiy gets slow when moving groups around after awhile. Quote

If you have two pixel layers and want to merge them into one, you group only those two pixel layers and rasterize them to become one pixel layer. If you combine/group it with vector layers(objects) these will become raster aka pixel layers and are not editable afterwards. However the two layers where pulled out of the group they where in and placed into a new group on their own. Quote
Circulus Posted May 21, 2023 Posted May 21, 2023 I don't get that here. I have a group of several pixel layers and vector objects. I select the 2 pixellayers in the layerspanel and group them together. This group is still a group nested within the group with the vector objects and rightclicking that group in the layerspanel>rasterize will create one pixel layer within the same group with the vector objects. Which is why I asked if what I experienced normal. But the Layers Panel being slow, when dragging groups around is a serious problem. Quote
Circulus Posted May 21, 2023 Posted May 21, 2023 The slowdown of the program I can't help you with as there are to many variables that could be the case here. If I have understood your description correctly, you should find that when grouping the 2 pixel layers, they are retained in their current group/layer location - simply a new group is added here which includes the 2 Pixel layers. Can you please attach a screen recording showing both the grouping behaviour and the layers studio issue here for me, so that I can better understand this report? If you're unsure how to take a screen recording, please check out our FAQ linked below - Many thanks in advance Quote
