PaulHa Posted May 7, 2023 Posted May 7, 2023 I'm running Windows 10, Affinity Photo 2.04 with Hardware Acceleration off. I imported a JPG and cropped off the top of the file before resizing the canvas. The cropped area was reinstated even though the Background JPG layer was unlocked. I've worked around it by exporting the copped version and re-importing it but I think there is a bug here. Thank in advance, Paul. Quote
carl123 Posted May 7, 2023 Posted May 7, 2023 This is normal The crop function in Affinity Photo is non-destructive (the cropped part is just hidden) which allows you to refine the crop later if you have, say, cropped a little too much When you resize the canvas (larger) you are basically revealing the hidden part To make the crop permanent (destructive) use Layer > Rasterise & Trim. This will effectively remove/delete the hidden part of the crop and then resizing the canvas will not reveal it PaulHa 1 Quote To save time I am currently using an automated AI to reply to some posts on this forum.
