Double and triple tap to select single vector object or group not working

Hello, 

  Let me start by saying I am a novice with Affinity designer version 1 on iPad. I have checked the manual, online help areas, and tried YouTube,  but I cannot find a solution to my concern.

I am currently following steps in an older Skillshare class for Affinity Designer for iPad from 2019 I believe.  In some of the classes the instructor is showing how to create different objects for a digital planner, and surface pattern designs (Instructor : Liz Kohler Brown).

During the process there is a quick option she uses with her apple pencil after selecting the move tool (white arrow) where she can tap the screen twice to select a certain group of objects. Then she can tap the screen three times to select one vector shape object within that group of layers with the Apple Pencil feature. This feature does not work for me. I have to select specific objects by the individual layer. I have tried this in different projects, and I cannot select an individual object with select tool or a group with my Apple pencil and tapping on screen. 

I have checked all my settings, and tried to mirror the options she shows in class. I have tried selecting the options to check box on and off for the layers panel "Edit all layers" and it does not make a difference. For the Apple Pencil settings within the app I have them set to Tool: Move tool, and Double Tap action: Node tool. 

I am not sure if I am missing a step, a setting, or if it is an older feature that has been phased out, or perhaps my inexperience in the app? I am using an iPad 11 Pro with Apple Pencil 2nd Generation. Current version for Affinity designer is 1.10.24, and iOS: 16.4.1.  At this time I cannot afford to upgrade to Version 2, but my hope for the future is to get the universal license and upgrade cross platform. I have been enjoying using Affinity Designer on iPad version 1 and Affinity Publisher Version 1 for Mac for now.

Any advice would be appreciated, and I thank you for your time in reading and responding to my questions.

Hi, @Jenesisand Welcome to the Forums,

This does appear to be a bit tricky but it does work.  Instead of trying a triple tap to select something in the group, try a double tap, does that work for you?
