Why, universal apps usually don't need Rosetta 2? - If the universal binary APh app would need Rosetta 2, then your MacOS should have already determined and indicated that. - In such a case it would have already asked you to install Rosetta 2 if it wasn't already installed on the system. - See also related ...

☛ Affinity Designer 1.10.8 ◆ Affinity Photo 1.10.8 ◆ Affinity Publisher 1.10.8 ◆ OSX El Capitan
☛ Affinity V2.3 apps ◆ MacOS Sonoma 14.2 ◆ iPad OS 17.2

Ok, thanks. The Dehancer installer is saying I should install it, but the Mac isn’t asking for it. So I guess not.

thanks

Dehancer? - Do you mean something from here  https://www.dehancer.com/ ?  - If yes and it's a third party plugin, then that message can depend on that Dehancer Plugin itself, aka if is build up (compiled) itself not in an universal binary manner and so just for MacOS Intel based hardware. Meaning here, if that is an add-on plugin which is itself only compiled and installed as an MacOS Intel binary, then that plugin would probably need Rosetta2 in order to be run as a plugin part inside of/for APh.
