Affinity Designer adopted from Illustrator not the most convenient (frankly bad) system of conditional fill/stroke color assignment depending on the selected mode. This forces you to either switch between them, through the X button, or do a left click with shift key pressed. The problem is that this approach often leads to either an incorrect assignment, or forces you to keep in mind (or check) which mode is currently selected. This is a waste of time. Corel and Xara use a logical and intuitive system with absolute color selection without switching modes: left mouse button - fill color, right mouse button - stroke color. It would be cool to be able to enable this behavior at least optionally.

I came from Inkscape, and its Click to set Fill & Shift+Click to set Stroke is really convenient. In Affinity Designer, I feel annoying (i) switching between Fill and Stroke by clicking/X button, and (ii) checking whether Stroke or Fill is selected.

I hope the team can come up with a more convenient way for Fill/Stroke coloring. Thank you!
