Nordic Light Posted April 28, 2023 Posted April 28, 2023 Hi, This morning I added a vector graphic to my asset library and AD closed. I was unable to restart AD agin. It kept crashing. I upgraded MACOS to the latest release to see if I was able to solve this. No luck. I reinstalled AD2 and was able to launch AD. When I clicked my Asset Library AD crashed again. No relaunch possible. Reinstalled AD2 and it is running now. But how do I now remove the corrupt Asset Library from AD? I can select as AD crashes....So where can I find the Assets library? Perhaps Affinity can add a functionality - Manage assets libraries in the upcoming releases..... for now... please can you tell me where I can delete this corrupt asset library? thanks. - hendrik Quote
Staff NathanC Posted April 28, 2023 Staff Posted April 28, 2023 Hi @Nordic Light welcome to the forums, If your asset library/asset propcol file has been corrupted it this can be reset by following the below: Close all Affinity Apps Hold down CTRL and launch Designer 2 whilst still holding CTRL This will prompt a 'Clear user Data' menu, tick 'Reset Assets' and then press 'Clear' The app will now launch, go back into your asset panel and it should now have been defaulted, allowing you to add assets again. Nordic Light Posted April 28, 2023 Author Posted April 28, 2023 Thank you Nathan for the instant response. This operation means that I have to reinstall all assets again. Ok.... But this is not the nicest way, as this will mean that I need to find the assets which I have again and reinstall. Installing is not a lengthy process, but it takes time to get all asset libraries again. This also means that all the assets I have created are gone, unless I have exported them. hmmmm..... Nevertheless, is my remark I made at the bottom an enhancement request? Would be really good and it saves much time. cheers, Hendrik Quote
Nordic Light Posted April 28, 2023 Author Posted April 28, 2023 I would like to add one thing / question. I have now reseted and reinstalled a few of my assets. I am now unable to drag the vector graphics into the assets library! What has changed? Quote

Not sure why that behaviour has now changed for you, are you drag and dropping the vector into an existing asset category? You might need to create a new asset category first by going to the burger menu at the top right hand corner > Create Asset Category, after creating a category try dragging and dropping the graphic into the new subcategory area in the assets panel. Alternatively, create a subcategory from within the same menu and then drag and drop into the subcategory area. If that still fails, are you dragging assets in from an external file or is it an object that exists on the canvas? It would also help greatly if you could provide us with a screen recording demonstrating the issue. Record Guide: https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT208721 Many thanks Quote
Nordic Light Posted April 28, 2023 Author Posted April 28, 2023 I have solved the issue. The asset library was still floating - All works again. 🙂 Quote
