hey,

I regularly want to save individual pages (one, or some) from Publisher as Publisher files (.afpub), containing the linked master pages.
(How) Can I do that?

Thanks for help!

Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums.

You could try one of these approaches:

  1. Create a new document, and then use Document > Add Pages from File.
    or
  2. Save a copy of the current document, Open the copy, and delete the stuff you don't want.

I'm not aware of any other methods.

hello Walt,

thx for the welcome!

I see.

1. kind of works! — it's just a little painful, as the picking of the pages is rather arcane / complicated. The picker is not oriented to open documents, but one has to first locate that already open file again in the finder; and then there is no visual feedback for individual pages, but one has to resort to jumping back and forth, with a lot of clicking and eyeball work, and possible confusions. … but, then, in principle it works. Even if very painful for an ordinary operation.

2. … is even more painful, and I would rule that out, in scenarios like mine, where I want to keep files with large amounts of variant master pages; ... which one then – it seems – has to delete them 1 by 1 (given there is no bulk delete of master pages).

So, thx for taking a look and giving some advice. It seems like doable, even if not really enjoyable :-}

best!
