I'm not sure if it's really a bug or if I'm just doing something wrong, but as soon as I intersect more than two object, all the objects disappear.

In the example, I want to get the intersection of four outer circles overlapping the lowest middle circle partly (image 1).

After selcting all five circles, the Subtract tool works as expected here (image 2) and the Intersection tool does it, too, if I do only select one of the outer and the inner circle. But if, on the other hand, I use the Intersect tool, on all five elements the elements just disappear.

I know that it would be possible to use the ShapeBuilder tool to get the desired result (image 3), but is it also possible to use the Intersect tool, since it is more intuitive at this point?

Many greetings
Michael

It’s best to post to the Questions section of the forums in the first instance. The Bugs section is intended for reporting reproducible behaviour which is clearly incorrect.

This is expected behaviour. The ‘Intersect’ command leaves you with the areas where all of the selected objects intersect, but in your example each object only intersects with one of the other four.

For the result you want, start by selecting the four outer circles and using the ‘Add’ command to create a single Curves object. You can then intersect that object with the central circle.
