Hi all,

I’m a all new user of affinity programs

I work a lot with building plans and for my technical sketch I would want to know if in affinity design is possible to fill an area with a “technical” hatch, like 45 degrees lines or similar - see attached pictures.

or… what is the easiest way to do what I want?

Sorry if the question is so basic… but what I found is not what I expected for.

thanks for your help

Hi and welcome to the forum.

The best way to use fills like these:

  • create bitmap files in png or jpeg format containing the fills as seamless tiles.
  • In Photo, you can create bitmap fill layers
  • In Designer,  you can create bitmap layers or rectangular shapes,  and use the fill tool, in bitmap mode, to create a layer with a fill based on those tiles

other options are using symbols of those tiles, and power-duplicate to create larger fill areas.

I use iPad screenshots and videos even in the Desktop section of the forum when I expect no relevant difference.
