xxxxx Posted March 18, 2023 Posted March 18, 2023 I managed to install Affinity Photo a few years ago. No problem with this that I remember. I like it and use it occasionally so I paid £69.99 for Affinity Designer in the hope this might provide a substitute for the long-gone Ventura which I have used a great deal from its inception in the 80s and much miss. Initially I tried to install the trial version of Affinity Designer but couldn't do it. Nothing in fact happened other than some small files appeared in the download folder each 1 kb in size. After several failed and frustrating attempts, I decided I'd go for the proper download so I purchased a copy of it after deleting the files created by the trial version. Predictably I suppose, the result was the same. Pointless! I have to say that I've never come across such an unhelpful and obscure set of installation instructions as those on your website. Over the years, I've downloaded lots of programs but fortunately I've never been submitted to something as dire as what is on there. Frankly I don't care what MSIX is and how I might or not might make it install the program. It is surely the job of the software developer to provide something for his or her customers which is fit for purpose rather than expect them to get in touch with some forum or other in the hope that more experienced and savvy folk might help out people like me who either are not sufficiently computer literate or who have no interest in trying to fathom out how to make bits of obscure software do what in theory ought to be an obvious, easy and painless once-only operation to achieve. I don't doubt from your warning at the head of this post that what I ask here will be suppressed and not as you put it 'approved by the moderator'. Please don't misunderstand. I am genuinely disappointed that I could not get the programme to install so regretfully I would be grateful if you would kindly refund the fee I paid and I'll have to think of an alternative. Thank you. Quote
