Stars as monochrome artefacts on DSS TIFF file import in Affinity Photo 1/2 for iPad

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Anyone experienced stars appearing as monochrome artefacts on importing the file into Affinity Photo on iPad?

File - 32bit TIFF, after stacking in Deep Sky Stacker where image appears with no artefacts.

If the image is stacked in ASIAIR Plus and saved as JPEG file, the stars appear correctly in Affinity Photo.

If a TIFF file is first saved in iPad Photos, it appears correctly there, yet again stars appear as artefacts if a photo is imported into Affinity Photo from the picture gallery.

Thanks,

Alexander

I would try taking Apple Photos or anything similar out of your workflow and try again as we have a few issues with how data is moved between Apple Photos and our apps. Process the files as normal and export out to TIFF, save this to iPad or cloud storage. While it's outside of our app, check to see what the colour mode is showing and any ICC profile. Then from within our app open the image and see what the results are.

If it continues to look not as expected please provide a copy here so I may do some testing.
