Hello folks,

I have an afpub file that crashes every time briefly after I open it. I've rebooted and turned off hardware acceleration and no luck. Using Publisher 2.0.4. Several Linked Resource Change windows popup. Shortly thereafter, those windows close and then Publisher crashes. Every time. Seems like closing those windows causes the app itself to shut down too.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Update: 5 Linked Resource Change windows popup. If I'm quick enough to close a few of them manually (before they close themselves), the app doesn't crash. Any way to fix this behavior?

Hi Gobo, some things you could try:

  1. Rename the folder(s) containing the linked resources. Open the file. Decline the prompt to re-link the resources. Hopefully it will open. Then replace the resources with the same files and re-save. If there are a lot of resources and they're in different folders, experiment with renaming one folder at a time to find where the problem lies. If they're all in the same folder, move half to another folder, open, decline to re-link, and see if that works. If it does, the problem was in the half you moved. Otherwise, try it the other way.
  2. Create a new document. Choose Document > Add Pages from File and choose the problematic document.

Good luck
