Align text perpendicular to path

Hi, I'm trying to get a very specific type of text design, and no matter how much searching I do I can only find variations of 'align text to a path'. I'm trying to get a long list of items to follow the line of a circle, but 'sticking out' from the circle, as in my very crude drawing below. Is there an easy way to do this? Thanks very much.

Thanks, that's interesting but not quite it. I was hoping I could just set the text to type perpendicular to a path (instead of ON the path) and then when I type a word and press enter, it would move 'down' the path to the next line, and so on. I have about 50 or 60 items I want to have sticking 'out' of a circle (similar to the image attached to this post), but it might be too finicky to bother with.

That could be the idea… with linked blocks of texts… you could do it in one "copy" and "paste"…
