  1. Thanks, that's interesting but not quite it. I was hoping I could just set the text to type perpendicular to a path (instead of ON the path) and then when I type a word and press enter, it would move 'down' the path to the next line, and so on. I have about 50 or 60 items I want to have sticking 'out' of a circle (similar to the image attached to this post), but it might be too finicky to bother with.
  2. Hi, I'm trying to get a very specific type of text design, and no matter how much searching I do I can only find variations of 'align text to a path'. I'm trying to get a long list of items to follow the line of a circle, but 'sticking out' from the circle, as in my very crude drawing below. Is there an easy way to do this? Thanks very much.
  3. When Affinity works, it's great, but when it doesn't it's maddening. I've spent the past hour trying to delete a selection - literally the easiest thing you can do in a photo editor - and I'm having many of the same problems listed above, and none of the "solutions" work. I use the word solutions roughly, because everything seems like an unnecessary workaround. None of this has ever happened to me in any other photo editor I've ever used and now I'm venting at a 3-year old thread because Affinity is so spotty and unpredictable with the simplest of tasks. If this is so complicated, you need to head back to the drawing board.
  4. Thanks very much, that worked perfectly...though I'd love the ability to just crop the layer to my specifications, but that's just me.
  5. Hi, I'm trying to something seemingly simple but simply cannot figure it out. It's frustrating me to the point of wanting to delete Affinity and forget I ever bought it. I drag a photo/icon on to another photo, which creates a new layer. I want to crop the new layer, but I can't for the life of me figure out how to do it. I can crop the entire canvas no problem, but I ONLY want to crop the new layer. Okay, I can do a workaround - I can just open the new photo/icon in its own tab and crop that, then bring it in to my work layer. But when I do that, I can still see the whole canvas. When I copy and paste the cropped photo/icon onto my work layer, the entire uncropped image shows up. Am I mental, or what? It should NOT be this hard to figure out, should it?? Searching online doesn't turn up much that I can see.
