Heidi.Gray
Hello, Just today, though I have been able to do this just fine before today, I went to export a pdf as normal under the high quality digital export option, and exported it, but then when I went to look at the pdf it had exported, some of my fonts did not embed, even though embed all fonts was selected. And then I went to export it again, but then it would not let me export at all, coming up with the error in the screenshot provided. After that, I tried several things, going off of the error message I first tried to just save to a different location to no avail, so I tried exporting in different presets, all got the same error, so I tried as a png which worked, but that is not what I need, so I restarted the app, and tried all of that again, all of which did not work, so I restarted my computer which helped a little bit in the way that I was able to export in the singular "PDF (for print)" preset, but I then just ran into the font issue all over again. Somewhere in there I also tried removing, and reinstalling the font (which was downloaded from google fonts, so like it's legit), but that changed nothing. Thank you for your help! walt.farrell
Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums, @Heidi.Gray. I don't see a screenshot attached to your post, so perhaps it did not attach successfully. Just guessing, but as you've mentioned installing fonts from Google Fonts, they are often available in two formats. When you download, the default you're likely to install are Variable fonts, but unfortunately those will not work with the Affinity apps. You should also have gotten a folder named "Static" (or something like that). The fonts in that folder are the ones you need to install if you want to use them with the Affinity apps. So my first suggestion would be to uninstall the fonts again, and make sure you install the Static versions. Then retest exporting again to see if the font embedding works better. Heidi.Gray
Thank you @walt.farrell! Installing the static fonts instead fixed my font issue! I have no idea where the screenshot went, but as it turns out the error keeping it from exporting was something to do with me hyperlinking an email address. I removed the hyperlink, and then it was able to export. Thanks again!
