How to cut a group of objects

Recommended Posts

I want the top half of the tree to overlap everything but the roots at the bottom of the tree to be confined to the stripe pattern in the background (i.e. to go behind the text box at the right and the border at the left). My plan was to cut the tree in half and just drag the bottom half to the striped pattern in my layers panel, but I can't find out how to cut the tree in half. It is a group of vectors. Is there a way to do this?

There are several ways of doing this, though the easiest may be to manipulate the text box instead. Aka place a another smaller portion (with the text part) of that on top to cover the tree part.

I'll show here with grabbed pixel layers what is meant:

You have to do with your vectors instead.
