I'm new to Affinity software, having only opened Designer for the first time yesterday on my iPad.

I'm currently taking a class that was filmed with Designer V1 and I've gotten stuck a few minutes in with regards to the Pencil Tool menu.

I've attached three screenshots from the video: when the Pencil Tool icon was pressed, you can see a menu at the bottom. I don't have this menu when I press the Pencil Tool in V2 and I can't seem to find it anywhere.

I need to be able to do what she's doing in the video, changing the colours for Stroke and Fill so I'm at a standstill with the class until I can find out where these options have moved to, any ideas?

Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums.

The user interface is significantly different in V2. You should probably read the changes listed in the Help (start in the Introduction, What's New in V2), and watch some of the Serif-provided Tutorial videos.

For your specific question:

Also: You can have your iPad take a screenshot for you; much better than using your camera.

Hi Walt, thanks for the lovely welcome :)

And thank you, that's solved my problem. I saw that top toolbar yesterday but couldn't figure out how to change the colours. I've just watched one of the Affinity tutorial videos on YT and found out how to actually select the colour I chose with the pipette dropper.

Yes, iPad's do indeed take better screenshots but I'm watching the class on my PC and using Affinity Designer on my iPad. I use Greenshot for taking screenshots on my PC but I couldn't access it when I was watching the class video full-screen and when I pause it at normal size where I could access Greenshot, it goes grey so I had to take them with my iPhone.
