SHA-10 Posted December 14, 2022 Posted December 14, 2022 (edited) Hello Everyone How can I copy a selection of pixels onto the initial layer without creating a new layer for it? Like alt + drag selection in PS. Because not only is it an extra step, which becomes tedious when done repeatedly, but also repeated merging down of the new layer causes the initial layer to blur because of anti-aliasing. Thanks in advance Kind Regards SHA-10 Edited December 14, 2022 by SHA-10 Quote
GarryP Posted December 14, 2022 Posted December 14, 2022 Welcome to the forums @SHA-10 As far as I know, if I have understood your question properly, you can’t do what you want but it is something that has been requested more than once in the past, for example: Quote

Blur only occurs when bitmap images are not precisely pixel aligned. That may affect marquee selections as well. (By the way, that's a feature, not a bug, because sometimes it may be exactly what you want. It's just that this flexibility is not immediately obvious in Affinity apps.) 1 hour ago, SHA-10 said: an extra step, which becomes tedious when done repeatedly You can speed it up massively by assigning custom keyboard shortcuts to all the Layer > Merge… and Rasterize… menu commands.
