Affinity Version 2 apps

Recommended Posts

Sorry, Keith, but I don't understand the question. You have 3 applications, and each has its own icon.

If that doesn't explain it, can you provide a screenshot to illustrate the question better?

Good evening Walt, thank you for your prompt reply, I have tried a screen shot but unfortunately it did not work? However, the icons for the 3 Affinity applications are not the normal ones,  the ones I have depict what looks like a little carboard box and the files are MS1X rather than the normal application files? When I press any of the 3 icons to load the application a box pops up indicating that the application is already installed and contains 2 questions - 1) Do I wish to re-load  the application or 2) Do I want to Launch it? I have to press the launch question to use the app. which appears not normal to me!  I hope that this makes it a little clearer!   Regards, Keith.

It sounds like you're trying to run the MSIX again. But you've already installed it, so you need to use the Windows Start menu, where you'll find Affinity Designer 2, Affinity Photo 2, and Affinity Publisher 2.

Yes, they are Windows Applications, but Serif have agreed to provide MSI-based installers as part of the 2.0.3 beta test cycle soon.

You can also get icons for the applications, if you want. Please see

Good morning Walt, very many thanks for your prompt and very informative reply, your reply has put me in an excellent position to solve my query. To be honest I am not a computer technical person and I have never heard of "MSIX" files which of course threw me, perhaps affinity should provide an explanation of what to expect when down loading their software for users such as me?  However, once again many thanks for your help which is very much appreciated.  Keith.
