Nuscha
I use guillemets » and « for my books as quotation marks. That was never a problem when typesetting my paperback books in Affinity in the past years. Now I opened a previous document (created with Affinity 1) in Affinity 2 – and it broke some of the flow. Most annoying of all, it pushes « (end quote) to the next line on its own. I tried to change the text flow in paragraph, hyphenation. Nothing helps. It doesn't help to replace the guillemets with the ones provided by Affinity 2 (Text: Insert: Quotation marks: left/right guillemet). So it looks like this: I can only go to character spacing and enlarge it by hand until the word in front of the quotation mark follows to the next line. I loathe to do this for a 380 pages novel!! Especially knowing that there are still 5 more to edit in Affinity 2. Before you comment about the placement of comma and guillemets: This is the German version. We use the guillemets the other way around from the French/Swiss, and we add a comma after the closing quotation mark, even if it has other punctuation inside the quotation mark. (Yes, weird, I know.) Is there an update on the horizon that fixes this?
