[Windows] Entries in start menu, installing on all windows user accounts

Recommended Posts

Hi,

when installing affinity on windows, it should be avaiable in all user accounts in this pc (by default).

I installed the affinity designer and publisher as an admin user, downloaded from the affinity-website. After that, In the startmenu of the admin-user is an entries for it. However, the icon is not displayed, although the program starts correctly after clicking on it. See Screenshot attached.

More important: Other user accounts miss start menu entry:

After changing to another windows user account, there are no entries in the startmenu. I did not found an entry to start the affinity publisher or affinity designer.

Whats wrong?

My understanding: The V2 applications are designed (at least when the MSIX-based installers are used, which is all we have right now) so that you do not need administrative authority to install them. But also, each user who wants to use the app will need to install it for themself.

Is it really necessary to install your Programms multiple times to a Computer?

That's my understanding, from posts I've seen from Serif staff. I think you'll only have 1 physical copy of the code and the non-user-related data when you're done, though.

But I haven't made a detailed study of this, and someone from Serif will have more info than I.
