ExclamationMark Posted November 22, 2022 Posted November 22, 2022 Hello, I am considering switching from Adobe InDesign to Affinity Publisher and I'm already in the middle of the test period. Initial impressions of Publisher ore OK: I managed to import my work from InDesign and first interesting observation was abour scrolling quality. While InDesign has to catch up with updates to pages graphics, Publisher seems to display high-quality pages, while quickly scrolling through them, at all times. But... I could not find any way to import my InDesign documents together with footnotes. Would that be possible? Or I would have to re-do all the footnotes (a no-go for me, I think)? Thank you and have a nice day, Quote
MikeTO Posted November 22, 2022 Posted November 22, 2022 Publisher v2 doesn't currently import IDML footnotes but it does for Microsoft Word so there's hope for the future. You're not the only person who has asked for this feature. RobiDesign Posted November 23, 2022 Posted November 23, 2022 Me too I have InDesign documents with many footnotes. I hoped this new version of Affinity Publischer would make it possible to import them. Pleace make this feature. Quote
ExclamationMark Posted November 23, 2022 Author Posted November 23, 2022 Yes, well… In that case I don’t think that I can use it for completing what I started in InDesign, not this time. I think it would take me two days just making copy-paste of footnotes, not to mention possible unexpected situations with a new software and workflow. Quote
