angello__34 Posted November 16, 2022 Posted November 16, 2022 (edited) I’d wanna know if there’s a way to simply draw shapes like lines, squares, circles, etc. just like how you can do with other apps as Notes or Procreate and not with vectors which is the only method I could find Edited November 16, 2022 by angello__34 Quote
loukash Posted November 17, 2022 Posted November 17, 2022 You can paint straight lines with bitmap brushes by using the Shift key modifier. You can also make use of the nifty "Mirror" and "Symmetry" brush options to create geometric shapes, or even mandalas with just a few lines. affinity.help/photo2ipad/en-US.lproj/pages/Tools/tools_paintBrush.html affinity.help/photo2ipad/en-US.lproj/pages/Painting/painting.html But for "to simply draw shapes like lines, squares, circles", I'd definitely use Designer and its vector brush – which is in fact not a "true" vector brush but a bitmap pattern attached to vector lines. I.e. the resulting impression can be virtually the same as if you would attempt to paint the object with a regular bitmap brush, but the object remains freely editable. Also, you can freely mix pixel layers with vector brush objects, or rasterize vector brush shapes to pixel layers. And you can freely pass a Photo document to Designer and vice versa to add features of each app. The document format is universal for all three Affinity apps. The possibilities are vast… angello__34 1 Quote MacBookAir 15": MacOS Ventura > Affinity v1, v2, v2 beta // MacBookPro 15" mid-2012: MacOS El Capitan > Affinity v1 / MacOS Catalina > Affinity v1, v2, v2 beta // iPad 8th: iPadOS 16 > Affinity v2
