IsleofGough Posted November 14, 2022 Posted November 14, 2022 Text pinning is unstable in this version of Affinity Publisher. Text boxes sometimes change to boxes with "x" at the control points unexpectedly and dragging the pin location works about 80% of the time and other times cannot be pinned to adjacent text. Quote
IsleofGough Posted November 14, 2022 Author Posted November 14, 2022 OK, the weird rectangles were not locked, nor was the layer locked. But reapplying the master page to the page fixed it and it could be deleted. However, the pinning still works some of the time but not others. This must be a bug. Quote

If you look at the Layers panel, and that text frame is within the Master Page, it's position will be locked unless you click on the Master Page layer in the panel and use Edit Detached. IsleofGough Posted November 14, 2022 Author Posted November 14, 2022 I've seen this explanation. The text frame was on a document page, not the master page. Looking at the layers panel, the text frame is not within the Master Page. The pinning works in the sense that it pins to some random character. It doesn't work in the sense that you can adjust the pin. Sometimes you can, sometimes you cannot. It seems quite random. Fortunately I have InDesign. Quote
