Making straight lines in Affinity Designer using the pixel brush using the iPad

Recommended Posts

I move back and forth between Affinity Designer and Procreate quite a bit and I think the only real edge in usability that I'm missing is drawing straight lines with the pixel brushes. The 'pull and hold' feature in Procreate is so much quicker and more effective that using the pen tool, and more stable that the two finger hold in Designer (which doesn't really work reliably). Is there anything in the works here? Would be amazing. Thanks!

You have the option when using the Pixel Brush in the Pixel Persona after the initial brush. Single finger tap hold on the canvas (Blue circle indicator) and then single tap where you want the line to end the two points will be joined.

I'm finding that process works well maybe 60% of the time. The finger recognition isn't always effective, and it's hard to get precise placement and width. I'm using Procreate for pieces that need a lot of quick precise lines right now, but I prefer Affinity Designer generally.
