Removing Color Replacement and Background Erase Brush from the tool rotations

Recommended Posts

The color replacement brush, the pixel tool and the background erase brush and the flood erase tool are driving me absolutely nuts! I need a way stop those tools from selecting when I attempt to switch back and forth between the normal brush tool and the normal erase tool while using the buttons on my tablet's pen.

I have selected the "Use Shift key to cycle tool groups" option in the preferences tab and the tools still cycle regularly. I would much rather have to select a different tool manually when I want it and to have the quick key always return me to my previous selection. It is incredibly frustrating because every few minutes my eraser isn't working, or my brush is full derp! Is there a way where I can set the other tools to different buttons, or to remove them from the program entirely?

I use that option, too. With it enabled, pressing B gives me whichever of the 3 "Brush" tools I had last selected from the Tools panel, and pressing E gives me whichever of the "Erase" tools I had last selected the Tools panel. Neither B nor E does any cycling among their respective group.

I suggest starting with testing using just the B and E keys. If your system works the way mine does, but you're having problems when using your pen buttons then that suggests there might be something wrong with your pen configuration.

It isn't in my drawing tablet. I am pretty sure it happens when I click off of the program and back onto the program. I was just playing with the keyboard shortcuts and realized there is a section for tools in a dropdown menu, so I have disabled the other tools from the list which is a work around. I would prefer what you are suggesting but it doesn't seem to be working like that for me. Thank you for your response I appreciate it bunches!
