I've taken plenty of pics on my Sony A74 and have starred the one's i like best.

I would like to open only the starred pics now onto affinity photo and edit them.

Is it possible to do this, and how does one do it?

Hi @WolfMuller,
Welcome to the Affinity Forums!

Affinity has no built-in option to automatically select certain files for opening. Instead files get opened with the usual ways and interface, e.g. by selecting the wanted and choosing Open, either in your operating system or in the Open dialog window of Affinity.

The ways of selecting starred images may depend on your operating system, respectively a DAM which maybe used to set, sort and recognize these stars. In macOS (maybe Windows, too?) you also can use the built-in feature of Tags. Therefore you would fist select all starred files and tag them outside of Affinity. Then you can use the tag property in the Open dialog in Affinity to get them sorted accordingly which enables you to select all those in one go without single multi-clicks.
