Hi, I will be buying a new iPad for photo editing.

It is not a professional work, I’m an enthusiast and will be editing for myself.

I cannot quite afford the new iPad Pro with the M1 processor.

Will the Affinity Photo work on an older model without the M1?
The 2020 model? And what’s would the 128GB be enough? I or would I need 256?

I was always using Adobe products and from my understanding the Pro with M1 is what they recommend. But I’m definitely switching to Affinity now!

Thanks.

Hi @Nebraska,

Welcome to the forum

The iPad version of Affinity Photo is compatible with iPad Pro (all models), iPad Air (2, 3, 4 & 5), iPad (2017 onwards), iPad Mini (5 & 6) running iOS 12 or above you do not need a M1 iPad.

For the storage that is up to your personal preferences I have run the app on a 1st gen iPad Pro with only 32Gb of storage as I store my finished projects on a Cloud service.

Excellent - thank you! I simply don’t want the software to be lagging etc

You may hear more from me later as I get the iPad and have questions on the software etc 😉
