When I open existing AI files, I am finding that any text (that has previously been converted to curves/outlines and grouped together - in Illustrator) is no longer grouped together when I open the files in Affinity Designer. How can I ensure these items retain their original grouping?

Hi @AWD,

Welcome to the Affinity Forums :)

When importing .AI files into Affinity, we read the embedded PDF stream data, which can be limited in the information Affinity can access.

This has been covered in the below thread, in regards to grouping -

Unfortunately we're unable to change the data we read when importing currently, I hope this clears things up!
