Not being the best at drawing I was wondering if you can extrude nodes/vertices in Affinity Designer, similar to how it is done in 3D applications?

If you are unfamiliar with extruding take a look at this 1 minute video:

The Affinity applications are all 2D-only, so where would you extrude ‘into’ in two dimensions?
If you can give an example of what you want to do then someone might be able to advise further.
Note: Please try and state the nature of the problem/issue/situation as fully as you can.

I don't want to extrude into a dimension really.

I am wondering if there exists a hotkey or option where I can create a new node at the end of the curve, still connected to the curve, so that I can more easily "draw" with precision aiming.

A gif I uploade to gyazo, where I did the operation described in 2D (but in a 3D modelling program).
In the gif I hit the "e" key for extrude, and this "extrudes" a new node out from the selected one.

No need for a shortcut as far as I can see. To get the behaviour shown in your .gif, start with one node selected, and then click with the Pen tool where you want the next node to appear.

(Hope this video works better than the last one I tried.) If the tool is in Polygon mode (as above), you'll get the angled line shown in your gif. In Pen mode, you'll get a smooth Bézier curve.

Thanks, exactly what I was looking for :)

Do you also know how to rotate a set of nodes with a specific rotation, like lets say 78 degrees, or 43, or any?

Example:

Draw something with nodes, and then select a few of them that I would like to rotate. How to? I have found the option to rotate them by 90 degrees, or also seperate them, rotate them by any degree, and then join them back again, but isn't there an easier solution or better solution?

fromart: Please try and make sure that, when you quote someone, you put your reply outside of the ‘quote box’. If you don’t do that then, unless people expand the ‘quote box’, people can’t see your reply and it looks like you didn’t bother replying. (If someone doesn't expand the 'quote box' they won't know if there's anything to reply to.)

Click the object with the Move tool and then use the Transform panel (View - Studio - Transform) to apply a rotation about its centre. You can also use the Point Transform Tool to rotate about any point you like. Again, you can apply specific values in the Transform panel.
