Everything was fine this afternoon and then my pictures started to be too narrow.  I've done something but I don't know what.

It's not the little lock icon that's stuck.  It doesn't make any difference if it's locked or unlocked.  My files start off as 4496 x 3000.  If I decide to save it as 3000 x the proportionate other value it just saves as 3000 x 3000.

I did try clicking on the png icon and it changed, then clicking back to the jpg that had changed so that worked for a bit but now even the png file won't change.

I've tried repairing it by clicking on the Affinity download file but that makes no difference.  What have I done to cause this?

Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums, @Tessa Baker.

It certainly seems like you don't have the aspect-ratio locked. Can you give us a screenshot of the Export dialog?
