issue with strokes when converting to pdf

See image below - how do I stop the strokes doing this when I convert the document to pdf? (and other file types )

I'm super new to affinity designer(switched over from procreate) and new to vectoring as a whole so this might be a really simple fix but i don't even know what to call this issue to look for an existing answer 😅 hoping someone can help me solve this one
