Duncan Eagleson Posted January 16, 2022 Posted January 16, 2022 Using Affinity Publisher 1.10.4.1198 on Windows 10 to format print books. No graphics at all, just text. After about 150 or so pages of text entered, Affinity started freezing up - first there's the spinning Blue Wheel of Doom, then the whole window turns whitish as Windows reports "Affinity Publisher is not responding." Fortunately, when re-opening, AP offers a recovered file which usually includes most of what I'd just done. Originally this seemed to happen randomly, though on multiple occasions it was when attempting to apply a master page to the first page of a new chapter. However, it's now happening regularly, and I can only enter a few pages before it freezes. I checked before posting here, and the crash reports folder is empty. Any suggestions about how to fix this appreciated. - Duncan Quote
Staff stokerg Posted January 19, 2022 Staff Posted January 19, 2022 Hi @Duncan Eagleson and Welcome to the Forums, Could you attach an afpub file that shows this behaviour or upload it to our Dropbox here and i can take a look at whats happening Quote
Duncan Eagleson Posted January 23, 2022 Author Posted January 23, 2022 At this point, I don't think it's an issue with the file. I uninstalled 1.10 and reinstalled 1.9, and it has handled this same file without a problem. Quote
Duncan Eagleson Posted January 24, 2022 Author Posted January 24, 2022 BTW, besides crashing every time I added or changed something, I discovered 1.10 was losing formatting in some sections, and dropping out chunks of text. Reworking the same file using 1.9, I have encountered none of these problems. Seems like 1.10 has some serious bugs, so I'll be staying with 1.9 for now. Quote
