Font Size in Linked Text Blocks is Wonky

Recommended Posts

Hi, I just updated to the latest version of Affinity Publisher (1.10.4), opened an old (2009) pdf, and pretty much deleted everything except a text block. I set the font as 10 pt Candara. I then typed too much to fit in one block, so I moved that block to the left side of the page and created a linked box on the right side (in two equal columns). I then resized Candara to 12 pt., kicking some of the words to the right box. It did not, however, appear as 12 point Candara in that block. It was more like .1 pt, so small it could barely be seen and certainly not read. If I select both blocks and change the font to 12 point, I get 12 point in the right box and some huge size in the left with all the letters overlapping! I have to set the font size independently in each block, and if I add more text in the left block, thereby kicking words to the right block, again, they are tiny! Something weird is happening in linked text blocks in this version. Anyone else seeing this? Any idea how to fix it? Thanks!

Possibly a mismatch in the DPI between the text boxes, see the thread below

You may want to skip page 1 or grab some popcorn first, the interesting stuff/conclusions start on page 2

If correct they were probably mine. I apologise for any mistakes made by my AI - I'm sure it will improve with time.
