JardsonJean
I bought Affinity Photo a few weeks via Microsoft Store, but only got to test it today. It's giving me constant random crashes. Sometimes at saving or applying a layer effect. I am trying to do a simple image post with text and a few layer effects and it's giving me a very hard time. It hasn't corrupted the file or anything, but I'm worried it might to that at some point. I noticed that layer effects run very slowly for some reason (choosing a color in color overlay I can see the software kinda struggle to apply the color for a moment). I have Affinity Designer in the same machine and it never gave me anything similar to that. BTW I use Brave Browser and it has been open with Youtube in the background during this test. My specs are Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-10210U CPU @ 1.60GHz, 8GB Ram, GeForce MX250 2GB , Intel(R) UHD Graphics, Windows 10 256GB SSD
walt.farrell
Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums. You might check your Photo Preferences (Edit > Preferences), and in the Performance section see if you have Hardware Acceleration (OpenCL) enabled. If so, disable it, and see if that helps. Beyond that, it can sometimes help to upgrade your GPU drivers to the latest levels supplied by the manufacturer. It can also help to review the list of third-party software that is known to cause issues. Finally, if you're getting any Crash Reports, it can help to upload one for the Serif staff to look at.
