Beadpatterns Posted December 21, 2021 Posted December 21, 2021 This is driving me crazy. I am trying to select multiple items on the page and it should work by selecting and then holding shift + click. However, when I press shift while in the move tool, it changes to a hand and turns it into the view tool! I can't find anything on the web to help me fix this. I have looked at all the preferences, hoping it was a keyboard shortcut that was wrong, but I have found nothing. All tutorials show that you can select multiple images/text/etc. by holding down shift, but this does not work for me. I can multiple select by dragging a box around the images or selecting on the layers panel, but I want to be able to select images that aren't necessarily next to each other in an easy way. Old programs used to let me use Ctrl + click, but that doesn't work either. Please help!

Beadpatterns Posted December 21, 2021 Author Posted December 21, 2021 I have Windows 10 Pro and I mostly use Publisher, but noticed it does the same thing in the other 2 programs as well.
walt.farrell Posted December 21, 2021 Posted December 21, 2021 Thanks. All I can say is that my Affinity applications do not act that way. Pressing Shift while in the Move Tool does not change tools. That sounds like a keyboard issue, or perhaps you're also accidentally pressing the space bar (which would switch to the View Tool temporarily). -- Walt Designer, Photo, and Publisher V1 and V2 at latest retail and beta releases PC: Desktop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 64GB memory, AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-Core @ 3.00 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Laptop 1: Windows 11 Pro 24H2, 32GB memory, Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60GHz, Intel UHD Graphics Comet Lake GT2 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU. Beadpatterns Posted December 21, 2021 Author Posted December 21, 2021 Yes! That's exactly what I was doing:( I guess I was having a "senior moment" and confused the two. Geesh! Silly, but I'm glad you suggested it. I appreciate you pointing that out to me! Thank you:)
