How to Type Letters with Accents on Mac On a german localized MacOS system and keyboard I would type instead "Alt+n" and a character (Alt-n a) etc. Though it's partly also font dependent, since there are also certain fonts which don't contain a tilde for accents at all. - Other than that, Google search and its cousins are always your friend!
