I'm trying to learn to use frequency separation for applying a gaussian blur to the low frequency layer. On several attempts, I could select the area and apply the blur just fine, but after blurring several different areas, the selection tool stops working (i.e., the area is outlined as I draw it, but then the outline disappears when I remove the pen from the tablet). After this happens, I can still draw a random larger area as usual.

What the heck?
