ölfkgjsfödlgjkasflöd Posted August 18, 2021 Posted August 18, 2021 Preface: I googled and searched this topic up and down and found a lot of similar issues but nothing that exactly matched nor solved it. I am going to create about 10 books in small editions. Each book contains about 300 pages and 200+ images. So I am going to place around 2000 images in total. Right now I did not manage to set the default text wrap settings to applied to each image placed. I tried "Synchronize defaults" button and menu. But it just did not do it (no error feedback). I tried setting the preferred values without selecting an object - nothing. I found no other way to change the preset. Each and every tutorial, book etc only talks about much smaller projects and does not address this "large scale" issues. At this level each click I can cut matters. So my question(s) would be be: 1. Is this a bug? This seems to suggest otherwise. 2. Any idea to work around this without having to manually apply a style to every image? 3. Is this project maybe too big for Affinity Publisher in it's current state? I'm gonna sink probably hundreds of hours in this, so I would really appreciate a reality check on this. Thanks! Quote
Wosven Posted August 18, 2021 Posted August 18, 2021 I doubt I would do such a project in APub. You can test prformance realizing a book, but I would worry that the lack of real object styles would add some work. Imagine you've done 5 books, and suddenly you/the client decide image frame borders should be 0.5 pt instead of 1. There's no way to select all of them at once in the Designer persona, it'll only select all the same ones on the same page. I use object styles since the were added in QXD, and others styles possible, and that's a feature difficult to live with unless you love to click a lot and do repetittive tasks. I love playing or designing in the apps, but once I need to do the work, I usually swith to another app. It'll depend also of the number of projects you did with them, and if you've got enough knowledge to solve different problems that can arrise, if you've got a workflow you'll be able to maintain for ten books. But I don't take risks usually. Perhaps other did a lot of projects without problems. Quote
