stacking produces almost always a bizarre and inexplicable cloned rectangular area somewhere usually towards the edge of the image, usually at a different exposure level to anything in the stack too.

it’s not the result of a problem layer, as hiding any does not solve it. It’s just there, and it won’t go away, making stacking virtually useless unless I can edit the unfortunate artefact out.

the size and position of the artefact can be quite random, but it’s always rectangular in nature.

working with Olympus ORF files - from EM1 mk II.

I may be wrong, but I feel this has got worse. Or maybe it’s just sometimes harder to see using “median” stacking mode with certain images
