MikeSB Posted August 16, 2021 Posted August 16, 2021 Hi all, I am new to AF Publisher and for now a user of InDesign. While learning many things by using the Test version I encountered one task which I could not solve: I imported a (Indesign created) document with many chapters. Each chapter starts with a prefix like it is possible in InDesign. The page count starts at 1 in each chapter. The index reference page-entry is made of that prefix and the chapter's page number. So the index looks like Reference01 ... 1-5, Reference02 ... 4-12, Reference03 ... 7-3 and so on. Is there a way to obtain that in AF Publisher too? Thanks for reading this! Michael Quote
Staff Callum Posted August 17, 2021 Staff Posted August 17, 2021 Hi MikeSB, Welcome to the forums I'm not sure if I have completely understood what you are looking for, are you wanting page numbers that also include the chapter heading after so many pages? If so then unfortunately I don't believe this is possible with Publisher you can make page numbers that reset/change format each chapter via sections but you would need to add the chapter heading yourself via a TextBox. Thanks C Quote Please tag me using @ in your reply so I can be sure to respond ASAP.
MikeSB Posted August 17, 2021 Author Posted August 17, 2021 (edited) Hello @Callum 😀, thanks for your reply and I am sorry to not have described the topic clearly. Attached you will find a screenshot. In InDesign you can add a prefix when numbering pages. These prefixes are shown as in TOC as in index (as illustrated in the image). Is there a plan to add this in Publisher? Or (better) have I overseen a feature? Michael Edited August 17, 2021 by MikeSB Quote
