T.Zed Posted August 13, 2021 Posted August 13, 2021 Hello, New to the Forum. Hope I’m in the right section? I recently watched James Ritson’s video regarding where it’s better to edit in ROMM RGB and not sRGB, of which I did, but I noticed one big difference, and that is, my image edited in ROMM RGB is a lot softer than the same image edited is sRGB; both with the same High Pass filter settings. Just wondering what I’ve done wrong, and is there a way to fix this problem? Cheers! Tony Quote
Staff Lee D Posted August 20, 2021 Staff Posted August 20, 2021 Hi @T.Zed Can you provide some examples/comparisons of the same image and adjustments used but with the different colour profiles assigned? Quote
T.Zed Posted August 20, 2021 Author Posted August 20, 2021 Hi Lee, Thank you for replying back, but I’ve sorted out the problem since I posted that message. It isn’t a ROMM RGB vs sRGB thing causing the softness that I first thought. It appears that when you go from, Open to Browser to select your RAW image, then to the Develop Persona, then eventually to the Photo Persona as per normal editing, the image softens. And it’s soft because I wasn’t sharpening the image in Develop first; I’ve only ever done that in Photo not knowing any better. I only noticed this recently, because it was the first time I decided to edit an image from start-to-finish using the latest Affinity version ( and trying out ROMM RGB as well for potential printing down the track ) and not going through Nikon View then to Affinity to finish off the image like I have in the past. It sure is a learning curve. Anyway, many thanks again for your time and interest. Cheers! Tony Quote
