Since the upgrade to Publisher 1.10.0 (Mac) the program regularly crashes when opening a previous 64-page file

created with the latest version before the upgrade. The cover pages of this project, a separate file, can be opened.

What could cause this error?

Can you upload the document?

Could a reduced pdf file be helpful?

I doubt it.

Are your images linked or embedded?

If they are all linked in a common parent folder, break the link by renaming that folder temporarily.

Then see if the document opens in 1.10

Damn, that was the solution to the riddle! Now it works. Thanks a lot Carl.

Well, if your images were linked you will only have low-res images in your document now if you renamed the folder. So I would expect to have to relink those images at some point to get the document back to normal

But looking at the PDF, your document is basically a photo-book so I'm not sure why it is 2.51GB if the images were linked!

If you are OK now, fine, if not just post back later

The document is displayed in high resolution. New linking not required.
The images are indeed linked, but they are not all in a separate folder, but with all other elements, unused images, also the 64-page file, the PDF file, etc. in a folder for the whole project, whose name I changed on your tip . . . and everything works as desired.

Once again thank you.

also the 64-page file,

Ah, I see, I think it's that the Publisher document will find the linked files if it is in the same folder (not sure if that is new)
