Dietmar
Illustrator has a nice dialogue box for applying a precise translation across and up the page. The translation can then be repeated (on any object) using Cmd-D (Mac). Can one do something similar in Affinity Designer?
walt.farrell
Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums. Create an object. Duplicate it using Ctrl+J (Windows) or Cmd+J (Mac). I'll call this Duplicate-1. Move Duplicate-1, either manually or by changing the values in the Transform panel. While you still have Duplicate-1 selected, Ctrl/Cmd+J again. This will create Duplicate-2, translated by the same amount from Duplicate-1 as Duplicate-1 was translated from the original object. The function is called Power Duplicate. Dietmar
Thank you. That is useful but I wanted to be able to do something more general: having applied a transformation (in particular, a translation) to an object (either manually or by entering numerical values), I want to be able to apply that same transformation to any other object, not just to the image of the original object. walt.farrell
You're welcome. I don't think what you want exists in the Affinity suite. Dietmar
Thank you, Walt. I was beginning to fear that might be the case - but frustrating, given all the fancy things Designer offers! walt.farrell
