Hi,

Transitioning from Illustrator to Affinity and having a hard time. Is there no button at all for clipping masks? I have managed to do a couple in Affinity but now it doesn't work anymore and I don't know how I made it work...

I'm trying to get a rectangle photo in a circle... Something simple yet for the life of me I cannot figure out how to to it again... I want to do it like in this video with the circle and rectangle https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eZVQfx6Ex7g&t=152s but I also want to be able to resize the photo? But I get this instead...

Welcome to the Serif Affinity Forums, Celine. :)

You’ve clipped the circle to the photo instead of the other way around. Go to the Layers panel, drag the circle out of the clipping position and then drag the photo layer below the circle layer, dropping it when you see a horizontal blue line below and to the right of the circle layer’s thumbnail. Alternatively, crop the photo to a circular shape by dragging the circle and dropping it directly on top of the photo layer’s thumbnail.
