stellanator Posted May 31, 2021 Posted May 31, 2021 I purchased a mockup to use that is the same format as a few others I've purchased - they all have smart objects from Photoshop that I was able to open in Designer/Photo. At first, the smart objects were opening as pixel layers and I couldn't interact with them to edit my mockup. I went to preferences and turned on the option that says " Open PSD Smart Objects Where Possible." This solved the problem on my other mockups. But I have another mockup that has a 3d object layer that I'm supposed to be able to click on and edit. The 3d object layer always opens as a pixel layer so I'm unable to edit it. The visible/invisible checkbox on the right of the layer is green which is the same color as the smart object layers, this leads me to believe I should be able to interact with it like the smart object layers. Please bear with my lack of affinity knowledge and the correct terms... newbie here. Thanks! Quote
Staff stokerg Posted June 3, 2021 Staff Posted June 3, 2021 Hi @stellanator, If a Smart object is loading as pixelated even with the option enabled in Preferences, then it won't be a supported Smart Object. It's mostly likely Affinity doesn't have a way to get the same effect, so has to convert it to a pixel layer. Also any smart objects that are linked, meaning their content comes from an external file, are not converted to embedded documents. Quote
