Staff Leigh Posted October 26, 2015 Staff Share Posted October 26, 2015 Welcome to the forums melkornemesis :) AD will create a new Pixel Layer when you've not got the Mask selected. If you select the Mask from the Layers Panel and then try again it should work. melkornemesis Posted October 27, 2015 Author Share Posted October 27, 2015 Thanks Leigh, my problem was that I was in vector persona and when you try to draw with Vector Brush Tool onto mask, it always creates a new layer. Staff Leigh Posted October 28, 2015 Staff Share Posted October 28, 2015 The Vector Brush Tool won't work on a Pixel Mask layer. Once you've drawn your vector shape/line with the Vector Brush Tool you will need to drag its layer directly onto the object you're wanting to mask - this should give you the effect you're looking for :) If you search Affinity Designer's help for Layer masking it will explain the difference between Pixel and Vector masking.
